Itineraries of Montserrat

2. Joan Carles Amat Route

Tourist route through the places of the municipality where Joan Carles Amat carried out his social activity.

Joan Carles Amat was a monistrolian prohomer who dedicated his life to music, medicine and politics. He was the creator of the first Spanish guitar treaty and the book "400 aforismes catalans".

Joan Carles Amat, of recognized fame beyond local and even county borders, was a man of his time, socially involved. He always sought to respond to those human needs he considered paramount.

Having studied medicine, he did not limit himself to the practice of his profession, but tried to leave written testimony in his discipline and, in addition, he instructed himself in the arts and his language.

When we talk about Joan Carles Amat, we talk about his career within the local administration, but, above all, about his medical, literary and musical works.

The itinerary consists of 6 points, starting at Plaça de l’Església, passing through Casa del Consell, Palau i els Jardins de la Sala, Plaça de la Font Gran, Carrer Sant Joan and Plaça del Bo-Bo.

If you want to book your place, you must contact the Monistrol Tourist Office, at tel. 938 284 536 or at mdm.turisme'monistroldemontserrat.cat.
