Bo-bo Arc Square

Plaça del Bo-Bo Monistrol de Montserrat B

It is the most genuine architectural and urban heritage of the village. The porched square as we see it now dates back to the 17th century. It is, in this time, when it becomes the main square of the town and center of the weekly market. The first Town Hall of the town is built with views of the square between the buttresses of the Renaissance church dedicated to Sant Pere.

Now we can still see the year of construction and the first known representation of the coat of arms of the town characterized by a ball divided into three parts by a cross.

In this square the votive dance is danced every January 20 in honor of San Sebasti.n. The tradition of honoring this saint, a lawyer against the plagues, dates back to the end of the 16th century.
