The current temple is of Renaissance factory with the octagonal abyss, it is contemporary of the basilica of Montserrat, but it was built on the medieval temple and cemetery.

Inside is a part of the medieval temple that forms the current chapel of the Sacred Heart and the baptistery.

The parish church of Sant Pere could be heir to one of the churches that cites the first document of confirmation of property (of then incipient monastery monastery) made by Count Jofre el Pilós and where the four chapels are mentioned: Sant Iscle and Santa Maria in the upper part of the mountain and Sant Pere and Sant Martí in the lower part.

The wooden carving of Sant Pere that presides over the altar is the work of Jaume Clavell.
